Technicians needed a tool that worked as well in a basement with no signal as it did in the office. Prowess built an offline-first mobile app with job scheduling, checklists and photo capture that syncs automatically once a connection is available.
The Challenge
Technicians filled out paper job sheets in buildings with little or no signal, which meant lost paperwork and delayed billing.
“Our technicians aren't going to use anything complicated, no matter how powerful it is.”
The Requirement
The solution needed to accomplish three clear objectives:
1. Provide an authenticated, self-service portal where users could complete the process in real time.
2. Enforce business logic natively in the interface so invalid requests were impossible to submit.
3. Automate calculations and generate formal documentation immediately, without manual follow-up.
The Approach
Prowess mapped the existing process end-to-end alongside the client’s subject-matter experts. Rather than reaching for a bloated, generic enterprise platform, we built a lightweight, secure application on clean, modern architecture.
The interface logic was built to run client-side for sub-second responsiveness, while every calculation and access privilege remained strictly validated on the server.
What We Built
The finished platform delivered three core pieces:
01 / Self-Service Studio: An intuitive, step-by-step interface with instant feedback and document export.
02 / Admin Rule Manager: An internal back-office tool letting staff update rules and content without touching code.
03 / System Connector: A real-time integration keeping downstream systems and records in sync.
The Outcome
Technicians adopted the app without formal training, and completed jobs now sync and bill automatically the moment signal returns.
“Our field technicians aren't tech-savvy, so usability was our biggest concern. Prowess designed an interface so straightforward that our team was up and running on day one without training.”
